Trials are becoming far more complex, with a growing number of endpoints and data to capture. This means site teams have less and less time to focus on crucial human interactions.

What sponsors can do:

Wherever possible, implement automated solutions to free up site teams for the moments that matter, with robust SOPs in place. There is broad agreement among patients that new technologies are acceptable, including passive wearables (provided there's suitable tech support in place) (CISCRP) and AI tools to process their data (as long as its use is disclosed).
